What is the mapping of software information between the inventory from console and the database?
Here are 2 main db tables on software inventory in database.
DB object: table AppSoftwareSuites<--> Inventory from console: Add or Remove Programs / Programs
You can use the query as below to check Programs information on a specific machine.

What is the source of the inventory result for Add or Remote Programs, Package and Product?
Add or Remote Programs: Includes programs listed in the device’s registry (from Add or Remove Programs in Windows XP or Programs and Features in Windows Vista and Windows 7) and applications installed from MSI packages (from the MSI database in the registry).
Package: Includes executed applications, applications with a shortcut, and executables found on the local hard disk(s) which are listed in the LDAPPL3.INI file
Product: Used by Software License Monitoring as mentioned above.
